New York Crane Accident Lawyers – The Construction Accident Attorneys of the Raphaelson Law Firm
The Raphaelson Law Firm is deeply saddened for the individuals and the families affected by this weekend's devastating collapse of a huge construction crane on the East Side of Manhattan. This tragedy should not have occurred. Concerned citizens had made complaints about the construction site prior to the date of the accident. Tougher standards and tougher regulation by the City of New York, Department of Buildings and Department of Design and Construction are necessary to protect the construction workers that put their own safety on the line for the development of this great city. Their safety and the safety of the New York City public must be more closely monitored to help prevent these types of occurrences from happening. Too often New York City is faced with consequences similar to this weekend's horrible events. In the last eight months alone, New York City has been devastated by six construction accidents involving the Deutsche Bank south of Ground Zero, A construction worker who fell to his death at the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, a second incident involving a crane at the Bank of America on 42nd street and two other construction deaths which occurred earlier in 2008.
The Raphaelson Law Firm is working hard to help enforce the labor laws that protect workers and individuals at and around major construction sites. Construction safety is a problem in New York City. Our office is presently working on many Labor Law Cases involving construction accidents and more specifically a crane accident in September 2006 involving a New York Crane being operated by Tishman Construction company. In that case a Crane collapsed and landed on and crushed a motor vehicle that was being operated with passengers at the time of the incident. That cause of that incident appears similar to the initial details being reported as the cause of this accident.
