Our Philosophy Is Simple, We Provide A Voice To The Injured
Our commitment to providing excellent representation to injury victims has not changed since our firm’s founding in 1992. This commitment includes a sincere appreciation of the legal and personal problems faced by individuals injured in accidents throughout New York. Our attorneys and staff work hard to help clients meet these challenges. We take our clients’ difficulties to heart and to court each and every day.
Our History: A Legacy Of Groundbreaking Verdicts
Howard Raphaelson is the grandson of Jacob D. Fuchsberg, the pioneering litigator who obtained the first million-dollar personal injury recovery in the United States. Raphaelson & Levine believes in the fundamentals of hard work and perseverance and that true success is measured by every client we represent. Although we live in an era of computers and busy law practices, our commitment to personalized and individual representation is modeled after great lawyers and pioneers like Jacob “Jack” Fuchsberg.
Every member of our legal team takes this mission seriously. We extend the entire resources of the firm to obtain the best possible results for clients. We invest in experts who reinforce the strength of our cases and help support the case for negligence. We also consult many expert physicians, economists, vocational experts, life care planners, radiologists and surgeons who can validate the case for damages.
What Makes Our Law Firm “The Voice Of The Injured?”
Raphaelson and Levine’s slogan represents the goals that we have always had for ourselves and the people we represent. The slogan is based on the core principles the firm was founded upon.
We Listen And Understand The Voice Of Our Injured Client
We always understand and appreciate the needs of our clients and the frustrations and difficulties that they encounter in all aspects of their lives after an accident. People that are involved in accidents are not prepared for them. The accident completely interrupts and disrupts not only what they can do physically but all aspects of their lives. After accidents people have physical, economic, and communication challenges with friends and family.
Our job is to appreciate these difficulties and the frustrations that follow accidents and to be there to help them in any way post-accident. Our responsibilities are not limited to just things purely legal but rather to understanding the entirety of their life changes and to be there as a support for our clients in any way.
We Let Our Clients’ Voice Be Heard Through the Entire Legal Process
While a client’s case is proceeding, their voice must always be heard from the beginning until the end. That includes communicating with the defendants and their insurance companies, communicating with the defendant’s attorneys, court personnel, judges, mediators and arbitrators.
Many of those opportunities, however, do not include the client’s own voice. It is therefore incumbent on us to advocate and let everyone involved in a case understand our clients and how a particular accident has personally affected them. Defendants and their attorneys and insurance companies always like to generalize and dehumanize, and we, on the other hand, want to personalize and put a VOICE TO THE INJURED. We want to know about our clients’ lives and their family and how things have changed post-accident. It is a personal relationship for each and every client that sets us apart from others and is why we are the voice of the injured.
We Provide Our Clients With Information To Make Sound Legal Decisions
Yes. The Raphaelson & Levine Law Firm, P.C. works on a contingency basis. This means that you never pay any legal fees or out-of-pocket expenses unless we are successful in recovering money for your damages. We will expend all the time, money and resources that are necessary to ensure the best possible result for you. If we are successful, and we have an excellent record of success, then we are paid a 1/3 percentage of the award after deducting disbursements. (The fee in medical malpractice cases is also a contingency fee and is regulated by the courts.)
In most cases, we will be able to let you know immediately. In cases where we need to investigate before making a decision, we will work hard and expend the resources necessary to make that decision as soon as possible.
The Raphaelson & Levine Law Firm, P.C. has won millions of dollars for our clients. We are always prepared to go to trial, and we have many years of successful experience. There’s no guarantee in any case, but the defendants know our reputation for preparing the strongest case possible. This is important in obtaining a judgment for you.
We move every case along as quickly as possible. In many cases, we can obtain an excellent settlement before trial. Ultimately, the time it takes to resolve your case depends upon the complexity of the case and the court’s calendar.
Although cases do often settle before trial, we are always prepared to go to court and it may be necessary for you to testify in depositions before trial and during a trial. We will advise you at every stage of the process and make sure you are prepared.
Lawyers who represent injured people usually focus only on these types of cases. Other lawyers know who we are; they often refer cases to our firm because of our reputation as successful trial lawyers.
No. The Raphaelson & Levine Law Firm, P.C. pays other lawyers who refer cases to us, and we pay them out of our share of the legal fees.
