Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the latest victim of an NYC fatal pedestrian accident. The a-56-year-old woman lost her life yesterday after being struck by a vehicle in the Bronx. Details have not been released as of this post. Despite the Vision Zero Initiative, pedestrians continue to be struck and either seriously injured or killed by motorists throughout NYC at alarming rates. Our office has handled countless lawsuits on behalf of pedestrian victims. Just this week we favorably resolved a claim of an NYC Upper West Side resident who was struck by a car attempting to turn left onto Amsterdam Avenue. The driver testified she never saw our client despite her position in the crosswalk, with the walk sign in her favor. Our client sustained a fractured ankle and required surgery. We successfully recovered $450,000 for our client within 1 year of the incident.
